Michael Wilner
_A philosophy, politics, and economics major at Claremont McKenna
College, Michael A. Wilner has experience from both inside and outside
the classroom. As a Casework Intern at the United States Senate in 2004,
Michael A. Wilner assisted Senator Charles Schumer in New York, working
with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to expedite green
card and visa acquisition for New York residents.
Two years later, Michael Wilner returned to the Senate as a Congressional Intern in Washington, D.C. for Senator Joseph Lieberman. During that time, Mr. Wilner reported on the Iraqi Prime Minister's address to Congress in July, and gave tours of the Capitol Building.
In June 2008, as a student at Claremont McKenna College, Michael Wilner accepted the position of Financial Analyst Intern at Stern Stewart & Co. His responsibilities at the firm included helping build client financial models and making brochures for the marketing department.
From 2009 to 2010, Michael A. Wilner took on a string of internships in the broadcasting and journalism field, which included positions at The Straits Times in Singapore, BBC London, and Anderson Cooper 360' on CNN. These experiences allowed Michael Wilner to hone his reporting skills, which he employed at The Forum, Claremont McKenna College's official student publication.
As Editor-in-Chief of The Forum, Michael Wilner administered interviews and published online content on a daily basis, all while overseeing a staff of 50 students. In less than two months, Michael Wilner turned The Forum into the largest publication at the Claremont Colleges by growing its staff, traffic, and content.
A resident of New York, Michael Wilner reads, travels, and plays the piano during his free time. He has held piano recitals in Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall.
